Vacation Goes Way Too Fast

We’ve been on vacation for a couple of weeks and it’s sadly coming to an end. We’ve spent the time at our house at the lake in Northern Michigan and it has been wonderful.

We have had wonderful weather and enjoyed great outdoors.

At the beginning of our vacation, we took my grandsons to Dinosaur Gardens. There are 20 something life size dinosaurs in this park in northern Michigan. It was a blast!

Most of the time you could find us lounging on the deck or down at the dock. My dog loves to fish in the lake. She would stay in there if I let her.

The evenings are the most beautiful times. So peaceful.

My dollar tree mug that I decorated with my cricut.

Did a little sight seeing. Outlook over Ausable River.

Got some kayaking in.

My Mother’s Day present got lots and lots of use. I got the solar lamps at Aldi. They give a nice ambiance at night.

We also did a lot of hot tubbing until our motor blew up…ugh…hopefully we get it fixed soon.

My sweet girl loves the water. I added this bird bath with solar fountain to my butterfly garden. It’s simple to install and makes a soothing noise. Here’s the one I got on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2UiTY0B

I picked this Tea cup and saucer up at the local thrift. Made a bird feeder. I can’t go too long without gluing or painting something.

Relaxing with my best girl

I took a ton of hummingbird photos. I’m a beginner photographer. I found this very challenging. I will keep practicing. I’m thinking about taking a photography class…

We had family and friends visit us. Good times…good times. The guys caught a few fish.

Snuck in a few snuggles.

Also got to do some driving around on the old dusty dirt roads in my Jeep.

Jeep hair don’t care… haha, my Saphira loves it (so do I)

The line to get in the small local thrift. Ten people allowed in the store at a time due to COVID-19. I was so excited about getting back to the thrift stores. I found a few cool vintage items to add to my Etsy shop. I’ll be adding items when I get back home. Here’s my shop if you want to check it out: https://etsy.me/2PLBBjk

I found this adorable guy today at the thrift. He will bring me a great profit according to ebay, that is if I can part with him…

You can find him here: https://etsy.me/3cAfvYF

We will be heading home in a couple of days and I will get back to crafting. cooking and blogging. It’s been a nice break, I’m refreshed. Until next time…

Shabby Chic Jewelry Picture Frame Craft Diy

We have been spending the week at our lake house and it is wintertime so there is not a lot of outside activities. Sure we have gone for walks on the frozen lake and had some success at ice fishing but it has warmed up enough for the lake to get slushy on top so now it is unsafe.

My Crazy Dog Having a Blast!

We have had a lovely time and we were all ready to head back home but our Jeep wouldn’t start. It is currently in the shop and we are in a stuck in a waiting game. I mean if I were to choose to be stranded anywhere, it would be here.

Dinner View

I love to craft and felt the urge to hot glue something so I pulled out some costume jewelry I have been collecting from thrift stores and my hot glue gun and and old frame and got busy. My local thrift bundles up broken jewelry into baggies and sells them as craft jewelry. It’s a wonderful idea!

I used wire cutter pliers and broke all the posts of the earrings and pins of of brooches and took apart a few necklaces and laid it all out. I ended up using more jewelry pieces then what is pictured above.

I started gluing. I had some idea of how I wanted it. I knew for sure the giant rhinestone brooch would be on the top corner, then I went from there. This picture is with all the jewelry in the previous picture. It takes a lot of jewelry! I used a 5×7 frame. I picked this one up at the thrift store. The edge needs to be flat and wide enough to accommodate the jewelry. This one worked perfectly.

Here is the finished product. It is the first jewelry frame I have made. I think this one will go in my walk-in closet with my grand kids picture in it.

Now I want to start a collection of jewelry and frames for our guests that come to visit and like to craft and they can have a keepsake to take home.

Thanks for stopping by! Subscribe and comment below what you think! I’d love to hear from you.

Saphira the Wheaten Terrier; Lake Life is the Best Life

This was early Fall 2019. She loves the lake. We can’t keep her out of it. She’s focused. She fishes for minnows all day long. I had this photo printed on a giant canvas to hang in the house.

My Wheaten Terrier Saphira

Meet Saphira, my one year old wheaten terrier. She is a giant ball of sunshine to me! She is spunky, playful, amazingly smart and super cuddly. She loves life at the lake. She fishes for minnows. Here, she is wondering where the water went.

I took this photo of her on the lakefront at our house. She loves the water and she’s wondering why her lake is changing here as it’s freezing over..
